In ancient times, bamboo and clay cups were used for this therapy. These days, glass or plastic/silicone cups are most commonly used in our clinic. The functions of cupping include; moving Blood and Qi and breaking up obstructions, detoxifies, relives acute or chronic pain, expels external pathogens, releases fascia, helps with lymphatic drainage and improves circulation.
Cupping therapy can help with many conditions, some of which include, relief for headaches, muscle tension and stiffness, arthritis, sports injuries, fibromyalgia and dysmenorrhoea. It can also be used to help clear the common cold, asthma, bronchitis and allergies. It is also helpful in the treatment of insomnia, stress and long standing emotional trauma.
The way in which we use these cups can vary depending on what we are treating and may include:
Fixed cupping: is where a single or multiple cups are placed on a painful area or acupuncture points and are retained for 5-20 minutes. This technique is often used to expel pathogens, to help with respiratory issues such as asthma and bronchitis, to calm the mind for anxiety, to relieve menstrual pain or to help with general muscle aches and pains.
Quick/Flash cupping: is where the cups are placed on acupuncture points and removed immediately. This process is repeated several times for 3-30 minutes. This is often used for people whom are weak or deficient.
Moving/Sliding Cupping: is where the surface of the skin is oiled and the cup is moved back and forth while the suction is still active. This is often used to help fascia relate and lymphatic draining or for muscular pain or to improve blood circulation.
Needle Cupping: is where a cup is placed over the top of a needle which has been inserted on an acupuncture point. This is often used to enhance the action of the acupuncture point.
Wet/Blood Cupping: is where the cupy is placed over the acupuncture point that has been pricked to bleed with a lancet, allowing the drawing of blood from the body into the cup. This is often used to detoxify.

Tui Na Massage Therapy - $95 (50 minutes) - $75 (30 minutes)
Tui-Na (pronounced twee-nah) massage originated in ancient China and is believed to be the oldest system of bodywork. It’s one of the four main branches of traditional Chinese medicine, along with Acupuncture, Qi Gong, and Chinese herbal medicine.
The philosophy and principles of Tui-Na massage are based on traditional Chinese medicine, which focuses on emotional and physical components of a person’s well-being, as well as aspects such as climate, relationships, and diet. The goal of Tui-Na massage is to create harmony in the yin and yang of the body by getting rid of blockages and disturbances that manifest as illness, disease, and emotional issues. Tui-Na massage uses massage techniques such as acupressure, myofascial release, and reflexology.
Tui-Na massage can be used to treat pain and illness, or to maintain good health. The technique is effective in reducing stress, encouraging relaxation, and deepening sleep. It’s often used for conditions and injuries related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
